Tenuta di Lucciano
The Tenuta di Lucciano has belonged to and is managed by the Spalletti family since more than a hundred years.
The property consists of ca.260 hectares:
31 hectares are planted in vines
53 hectares are planted in olive trees.
Chianti Montalbano Tenuta
The "Chianti Montalbano" is especially suitable to accompany red meat and game. Obtained from Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Trebbiano and Malvasia vines, its colour is an intense ruby red and it assumes with aging elegant garnet reflexions. Its scent is very strong and refined and it reminds that of mature blackberry and of oriental spices. The dry, savoury and harmonious taste has a very pleasant cherry and almond ground. All these precious features are the result of a wise and traditional grapes' processing. In fact, the grapes, after the maceration, mature in great casks of oak for six-twelve months. This kind of wine is available also in Reserve, which is a more esteemed version obtained by aging.
La Carraia
The IGT red wine "La Carraia" is produced with Sangiovese and Cabernet vines only in the best years. It matures in small 2,25 hl casks of oak, called "Barriques". It has an alcoholic graduation of 13,5 vol. and an intense ruby red colour. Its scent is ethereal and compound by mature fay and oak vanilla. Its dry, harmonious and long persistent almond toasted taste make it perfect with the game.
Rosato Wine
The IGT Rosato Wine is obtained from Canaiolo and Sangiovese vines. This wine, with its light ruby red colour and its intense, ethereal and rich in primary aromas scent, has a dry, aromatic and very velvety taste. It joins pleasant company with shellfish, fish soups, white meats and earth appetizers.
White Wine
The "White Wine" produced by Fattoria di Lucciano is an IGT wine. It is obtained from Trebbiano Toscano and Malvasia vines. It has a gentle straw-yellow colour and a pleasantly ethereal, intense and rich in primary fragrances scent. The dry taste is exalted if this wine is drew near fish appetizers and dishes.
Vin Santo
The "Vinsanto dei Colli dell'Etruria centrale" is produced with Trebbiano Toscano and Malvasia grapes. These grapes wither until December and then ferment for four years in little casks of oak (0,5 - 2,25 hl). Its alcoholic graduation is 18% vol. and its colour is golded straw-yellow. The intense, ethereal, jam-like scent, and the clean, very persistent and harmonious taste join a very good company with Prato's Cantuccini and other dry cakes.
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
The "Extra Virgin Olive Oil" is exclusively obtained from olives produced by the Firm. The squashing is made in the Firm's oil-mill, which is equiped with millstones, throughout the cool squeezing technique. Its colour, which is an intense green after squeezing, later becomes a light amber. The yielded, fresh and harmonious scent and the clean, firm, gently spicy after squashing taste, exalt whatever food, particularly salads, legumes and cooked or raw vegetables.
Wine cellar
Chianti Montalbano Tenuta DOCG constitutes about 70% of the entire production.
In the best vintages a high-quality red wine called La Carraia is also produced, whose grapes come from a single vineyard and mature in oak barrels.
